About Curious Connections

Where Learning Comes to Life

Learning comes to life by using the things we can see to learn about the things we can't.

Curious Connections helps children explore unfamiliar ideas through familiar experiences, imaginative stories, meaningful comparisons, and hands-on discovery. Our mission is to help young minds develop the thinking skills and learning strategies they'll need to approach increasingly complex concepts throughout their education and beyond.

Explore • Discover • Connect
Three simple steps. A learning strategy that grows with every new adventure.

Why We Created Curious Connections

Children encounter increasingly complex ideas as they progress through school. Whether they're studying science, mathematics, history, literature, or another subject, unfamiliar concepts can be difficult to understand when they have nothing familiar to connect them to.

We created Curious Connections to help bridge that gap.

Rather than beginning with complicated terminology or expecting children to memorize information they don't yet understand, we start with something familiar. We encourage children to observe it, ask questions, investigate how it works, and discover relationships that help them approach something new.

Our first adventure, The City Inside You, demonstrates this approach through science. By exploring the familiar systems of a city, children begin discovering connections to the remarkable systems operating inside their own cells.

But science is only the beginning. The Explore, Discover, Connect method can be applied across subjects, encouraging children to develop curiosity, reasoning, critical thinking, and the confidence to investigate unfamiliar ideas.

Our long-term objective extends beyond any individual book or lesson. We want children to develop learning strategies they can carry with them as they encounter more challenging concepts in middle school, high school, college, and throughout life.

Sometimes the most important thing children discover isn't the answer. It's how to approach the next question.
